Lucknow: As obesity continues to escalate into a public health challenge, HealthCity Vistaar Superspeciality Hospital & Trauma Centre has launched an expansive, customised treatment programme aimed at providing holistic and scientific obesity management. The new initiative was unveiled, marking a significant step in advanced weight-loss care in the region.
Under the programme, each patient will receive a tailored treatment plan based on their specific dietary needs and health conditions. The options include counselling, exercise regimens, medication, gastric balloon therapy, endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty, and bariatric surgery.
To strengthen its obesity-care capabilities, HealthCity Vistaar has partnered with renowned international bariatric, metabolic and robotic surgeon Dr. Mohit Bhandari from Indore. During the launch event, Dr. Bhandari performed a bariatric surgery on one patient and administered gastric balloons to four others, demonstrating the hospital’s upgraded facilities and expertise.

Addressing a press conference, HealthCity Vistaar Managing Director Dr. Sandeep Kapoor said the initiative reflects the hospital’s commitment to world-class patient care.
“In just one year, we have succeeded in establishing state-of-the-art bariatric surgery services. With this international collaboration and a comprehensive obesity-management programme, we hope to script a new chapter in advanced weight-loss treatment,” he said. Dr. Kapoor emphasised that obesity, which is rapidly assuming epidemic proportions, requires personalised and multi-disciplinary care—an approach central to the newly launched programme.
